This is the account of my experience of my wife's pregnancy with our first, and now second, child. Mostly so friends and family can get updates if they want to know what's going on, but anyone's welcome to read it. I will not update it on any particular schedule, and the only thing you should assume from the absence of an update for a while is that either nothing interesting has happened, or I'm too busy to update.

May this boy grow to be as brave and wise, as intelligent and kind, as his parents. May he protect the weak and thwart tyrants. May he push back the frontiers of human understanding. May he survive the bad times and stand tall in a better world. May he hear the rolling thunder and respond with a roar.
