Kate returned to work today.
Of course, to commemorate that occasion, Sam was a complete butthead last night. She eventually brought him into the bedroom at about 3 AM so that there'd be a better chance of one of them getting some sleep.
Sam did.
Kate didn't.
She got up and nursed him at six. Usually after that he'll go back to sleep for a couple of hours.
Not this morning.
This morning he played with the covers for twenty minutes and then stated howling. She fed him again on her way out, and he slept for the fifteen minutes that it took her to get out the door, and then started howling again.
It's now 10 AM. Sam and I are at the coffee shop, and I actually managed to get him to sleep between the walk down here, and rocking him in his carrier.
We'll see how long it lasts. He's had one bottle already, and he's spit up enough to need to be re-dressed once.
Kate warned me that he would likely be a pill today because he didn't sleep last night. That also means, by the way, that it's okay for him to sleep this morning, but not this afternoon. If he naps too much this afternoon he'll just repeat this pattern again tonight.
It's likely that I'll have a bunch of short updates over the next several days as Kate's back at work and I'm doing the primary childcare.
