I Meet the Doc.

Kate and I got coffee this morning and had this conversation...
Kate: I hope you like my doctor.
Me: Doesn't really matter if I like her or not.
Kate: Yes, it does, we're going to be working with her for the next eight months.
Me: Well, what happens if I don't like her
Kate (after a momentary pause): I just really really hope you like her.

As it happens, I do like her. Even though she ran over a half hour late. She came in and did the exam, and answered all of our questions. The only nerve-wracking part of the whole thing was that she couldn't find the heartbeat with the heartbeat monitor.
She told us that this happens sometimes, and that she'd send the nurse in after the exam to try again, and if they still couldn't find it they'd set up an ultrasound for today.
The nurse found it, but waiting for that really really sucked. Sucked much more than I imagined that it would. But in the end, everything is still proceeding as normal. And we got to hear the heartbeat, which is going between 160 and 170 beats per minute. That's normal, I'm told, so we're all good.
Also, I made no faces that indicated discomfort.
The ultrasound is next week...
